Healing Cyclical Ancestral Trauma: Introduction and Effective Strategies
Published on: January 3, 2024

Introduction

Hello everyone, today I’ll be discussing a fascinating topic that has influenced our lives in ways we often overlook: Releasing cyclical ancestral trauma. This blog will provide quick insights, however it’s essential knowledge for a meditation practice be in solo or in group. So, let’s dive right into this enlightening topic!

Interconnected with Our Ancestors

First off, I would like to demystify the concept of how we are interconnected with our ancestors. So just to wrap things up quickly, our relationships, thoughts, perceptions, and even traumas seamlessly weave together to form a web of connections with our ancestors.

  1. Genetic Interconnection (Epigenetics): Epigenetics refers to changes in gene expression that do not involve alterations to the underlying DNA sequence. Environmental factors, including experiences and stressors, can influence gene expression. Some researchers propose that experiences and traumas endured by ancestors might leave an epigenetic imprint, affecting the behavior and health of subsequent generations.
  2. Psychological and Behavioral Patterns: Family systems theory and psychodynamic approaches suggest that patterns of behavior, thoughts, and emotions are transmitted across generations within families. This can include learned behaviors, coping mechanisms, and relational dynamics. Individuals may unconsciously adopt certain patterns from their ancestors, shaping their worldview, interpersonal relationships, and coping strategies.
  3. Cultural and Societal Influences: Cultural and societal factors also contribute to the interconnectedness with our ancestors. Beliefs, traditions, and social norms are often passed down through generations, influencing the way individuals perceive the world and engage in relationships. Cultural continuity can create a sense of connection to one’s ancestors, as shared values and practices are maintained over time.
  4. Collective Consciousness and Ancestral Memory: Some spiritual and cultural beliefs propose the existence of a collective consciousness or ancestral memory that transcends individual experiences. In this view, individuals may tap into a shared reservoir of knowledge or wisdom accumulated by their ancestors. While this concept is more abstract and lacks empirical scientific support, it holds significance in various cultural and spiritual traditions.
  5. Transgenerational Trauma: The notion of transgenerational trauma suggests that the effects of trauma experienced by one generation can be transmitted to subsequent generations. This transmission may occur through various mechanisms, including family dynamics, parenting styles, and the impact of unresolved trauma on the psychological well-being of descendants.

Acknowledging the potential influence of ancestral connections can be a valuable aspect of self-reflection, allowing individuals to better understand their own narratives, challenges, and strengths. However, it’s crucial to recognize that personal agency, environmental factors, and individual experiences also play significant roles in shaping who we are.

Healing Cyclical Trauma: An Evolving Process over Time

One fascinating development I have noticed in my healing work is that the kind of information that comes up during healing sessions has evolved over time. Years back, healings were focused on individual issues. Currently, what I find is that healing now transcends individual problems to more complex connections that reach into our ancestral lineages.

“What I am noticing is that when these contractual agreements come up, when we go within to go into a reading state, where we start to access the Akashic archives of ourselves, we need to access the information that’s provided in our space, in what makes up who we are, and our experiences.”

This evolution shows that we are undergoing an energetic shift as humans. Our reality is changing faster than ever, and the energy of our universe is shifting vibrationally. This change is often observed when we make conscious efforts to do that inner work and start to feel the shifts from within.

Key Notion of Cyclical Trauma

Understanding how cyclical trauma operates in our realities is pivotal to alleviating them. Here’s how to think about it:

We often fall into repetitive cycles characterized by very similar traumas – the same storylines playing in different ways. This scenario is akin to different characters assuming different roles, causing and inflicting pain or insecurities, and reacting in turn. This pattern is common across different cultures and societies, making it such a pervasive phenomenon.

There are common traumas and even a whole biology on how it is ingrained in our DNA. But that’s a topic for another blog post.

Over time, we pull in experiences through our perceptions, which then shape and change who we are. Consequently, our bodies process these experiences along with our emotions and interactions, directly influencing our reacting towards life situations.

The Importance of Emotions in Healing Cyclical Trauma

“Our emotions are the most crucial indicators of our well-being.”

When we are working on clearing cyclical trauma, a significant part of the equation is to reconsider the programming that has informed our current perception. By doing this, we can identify any imbalance in our perception and find ways to rebalance.

Looking at that imbalance offers an opportunity for us to understand more about our deepest selves and how we can work with energy rather than against it. In other words, we can initiate healing closer to our roots instead of focusing on the symptoms we experience in our everyday lives.

Ancestral Trauma: Healing Our Entire Network

As I mentioned before, when I’m healing people today compared to ten years ago, I no longer focus solely on specific contractual agreements or relationships. Instead, the healing now extends to involve the whole ancestral network.

In this new approach, a significant step involves accessing the Akashic records of ourselves—stores of information within our space, who we are, and our experiences. This information is stored within our energetic body, in different layers that cater to various experiences.

Unprocessed traumas in these layers surface repeatedly in our lives and manifest physically. Therefore, we can identify these patterns by simply observing the triggers in our daily lives.

Connecting Traumas to the Ancestral Lineage

Understanding the connection between our everyday traumas and the bigger picture of our ancestors may not seem easy at first. Yet, the reality is: we are a collection of everything that we have learned and absorbed from our family and society over the years.

Our choices of connections that we make resonate with our beliefs. Often, we align ourselves with people who share our fundamental beliefs or moral structure. Taking a broader perspective, the groups we associate with can greatly vary; they consist of many different individuals with unique personalities, careers, and interests.

However, analyzing the collective psyche and triggers uncovers a common theme: we often mirror the things in us that we need to heal and recover. This subconscious arrangement, orchestrated by our higher self and soul essence, opens up opportunities for us to heal, tackle triggers, and ascend.

However, anyone who hasn’t taken the time to assess relationships and interactions authentically might be attracting things that pull from the lower aspects, thus impacting their ascent process. When these interactions and situations become overwhelming, it often leads to struggle, perceived blockages, and unhealthy patterns.

Self-examination and Self-support

We need to take a deep dive into our everyday interactions because they present real opportunities to understand our triggers and consequently patterns in our lives. You can conduct this self-examination by merely reviewing your past 24 hours, week, or month to grasp the patterns that define your interactions and emotional state.

This examination presents us with a quick overview of our emotional state and it’s definitely an opportunity to shift things for the better. We have to be our best support system, understanding that no one else can comprehend our experiences better than we do. Fear and resistance prevent us from confronting traumas, but we can overcome them by staying focused on reviewing our lives.

The Power of Emotions and Resistance against Healing

Triggers often draw us back to painful emotions, a place most of us fear to tread. In the spiritual community, much emphasis is put primarily on positive emotions – always staying high vibration, conscious and awake. Keeping your vibrations high and staying in the present is crucial: “In the moment, I am safe. I am here.”

Nevertheless, it’s vital to distinguish between being present and being in denial about your feelings. Steering clear of certain emotions that invoke painful memories of the past might seem like a good idea, but it is actually detrimental for our ascension process.

“What I tell people is that we become slaves of the emotions that we do not want to feel, that we do not want to address.”

Resisting these emotions not only harms us but also influences our choice of timelines that are in resonance with that resistance. This resistance is then stored as blockages in our energetic body, affecting our perceptions and subsequent experiences. Over time, such build-ups will deviate us from our potential timelines for success, love, and creation.

When we accumulate such blockages over successive cycles – we have our entire family lines dealing with these issues. This accumulation poses a significant challenge because that blockage will not shift until addressed and fixed.

When we continue with this blockage, it becomes part of our belief system. With this belief system, you may attract a partner resonating with it. You not only carry it through your relationship but also pass it to your children, through the energy absorbed from gestation and interactions after birth.

These children also carry through this cycle, further amplifying the trauma through generations and cycles of reincarnation. This cycle is where the concept of ancestral trauma really hits home—forces beyond our direct control affecting our individual experiences and healing process.

Closing Notes

Fixing our traumas could help to break the family cycle. However, this process is entrenched more complexly within our lives, spreading from our individual selves to our immediate family, relationships, and broader societal interactions. Becoming conscious of these factors is an integral step toward breaking free from the cycle of ancestral trauma.

Finally, there is a paramount importance in healing and cleaning these blockages before planning to have children. This remediation aids not only your offspring but also the larger ancestral lineage down the line—ridding yourself, your children, and importantly, future generations of ingrained traumas and accumulated blockages.

To effectively do this, try regular self-examinations and practicing self-support, uncover the emotional pain points and expressing these emotions openly.
