The Truth About Intrusive Thoughts Intrusive thou The Truth About Intrusive ThoughtsIntrusive thoughts are unwanted thoughts, images, phrases, memories, or impulses that enter your mind without invitation. They can be about almost anything. Some may seem harmless, while others can be extremely disturbing. A person may experience thoughts that contradict their values, relationships, beliefs, or sense of identity. One of the most important ideas in working with intrusive thoughts is learning to separate thoughts from actions.Recurring intrusive thoughts can be frustrating. You may feel as though you have already dealt with the thought, only for it to return later. But that repetition itself isn’t necessarily a problem.Sometimes an intrusive thought or present-day fear may remind you of an old experience.Intrusive thoughts are common, but they can also occur as part of mental-health conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, and other difficulties. If you want to read more about the best practices that can help you with this topic, continue to my latest blog post, link in bio!#IntrusiveThoughts #MentalHealthAwareness #AnxietyRelief #Mindfulness #EmotionalHealing
How to Feel Your Emotions Without Becoming Control How to Feel Your Emotions Without Becoming Controlled by ThemA common misunderstanding about emotional healing is that feeling an emotion means becoming immersed in it. However, there is a major difference between feeling an emotion consciously and being controlled by it unconsciously. Many people struggle with their emotions because they have received conflicting messages about how to deal with them. On one hand, we are told not to become attached to our emotions. On the other hand, we are encouraged to fully feel and process what comes up inside us. These ideas can seem contradictory, but understanding the difference between experiencing an emotion and becoming consumed by it is the key to emotional healing.Emotions are often more complex than they initially appear. What we experience on the surface may only be the first layer of a deeper emotional pattern. For example, someone may recognize fear as their dominant emotion. However, by exploring that fear, they may discover layers underneath it:Fear may be connected to anxiety.
Anxiety may be connected to loneliness.
Loneliness may be connected to a deeper belief of unworthiness.
The surface emotion is often not the root. It is a doorway.Continue reading at my latest blog post, link in bio!#EmotionalAwareness #EmotionalHealing #HeartCenteredLiving #InnerHealingJourney #MindBodyConnection
What if one of the simplest things you can do to f What if one of the simplest things you can do to feel a little calmer takes just 60 seconds? No app. No special equipment. No complicated breathing technique.Just close your mouth, choose an effortless or comfortable note, and hum.It sounds almost too simple to be interesting doesn’t it? But humming creates a surprisingly complex chain of vibrations and physiological responses throughout the body. That simple “mmm” can involve the sinuses, bones of the skull, breathing pattern, nervous system, and even the movement of fluid around the brain.Instead of sound coming from the external environment, traveling only through the air and into your ears, some of the vibration travels mechanically through your bones.Your skull contains several pairs of air-filled sinus cavities: the maxillary sinuses behind your cheeks, the frontal sinuses behind your forehead, the ethmoid sinuses between your eyes, and the sphenoid sinuses deeper inside the skull. When you hum, these spaces can resonate.Think of a musical instrument. A guitar string creates a vibration, but the body of the guitar helps amplify and shape the sound. Similarly, the shape and size of your sinus cavities influence how vibrations behave inside them.Sinuses are indeed resonance chambers and this explains that sustained humming gives them a continuous vibration to respond to.Want to know what other health benefits humming does to you? Many people assume personality is something we’re Many people assume personality is something we’re born with, a fixed expression of who we are.But much of what we call personality develops through adaptation. From our earliest experiences, we learn which emotions are welcomed and which are rejected. We notice which behaviors earn love, approval, or attention, and which lead to conflict, criticism, or withdrawal.Without realizing it, we begin adjusting ourselves. We become quieter if speaking up feels unsafe. We become caregivers if keeping the peace protects us.We become achievers if success earns affection. These adaptations are incredibly intelligent. They helped us navigate our environment when we had limited choices. The problem begins when those temporary survival strategies become permanent identities and without our awareness.Continue reading on my latest blog post, link in bio!#HealingFromWithin #EmotionalHealing #StressRelief #HolisticWellness #SoundHealing
Have you ever found yourself reacting strongly to Have you ever found yourself reacting strongly to something that seemed relatively small?Perhaps an offhand comment made you unexpectedly emotional. Maybe your shoulders became painfully tense during a routine workday, or you experienced anxiety without knowing what triggered it?Moments like these often leave us asking, “Why am I reacting this way?”Many experts suggest that the body often remembers experiences “beyond what our mind remembers.” In other words, physical sensations sometimes appear before we consciously connect them to a past event. While this doesn’t mean every ache, illness, or stressful moment is caused by trauma, it does invite us to become more curious about the relationship between our emotional history and our present wellbeing.Continue reading in my latest blog post, link in bio!#holistichealing #traumatherapy #mindfulness #anxietyawareness #mindbodyspirit
The story begins in 1986 with Japanese geneticist The story begins in 1986 with Japanese geneticist Susumu Ono, who developed a method for translating DNA sequences into musical notes. By assigning each of DNA’s four nucleotide bases: adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T) to different musical notes, he transformed genetic sequences into melodies. The resulting compositions weren’t random noise, instead, they often displayed repeating patterns, rhythm, and surprising musical structure. While the music wasn’t intended to reveal hidden messages or predict biological function, it provided a unique artistic way of representing the information stored inside our genes. This simple idea sparked a much bigger question:If DNA can be converted into music, could music also influence DNA?Continue reading in my latest blog post, link in bio!#soundvibrationalhealing #SoundHealing #dnaactivation #432hz #cymatics
Do you wake up with your jaw tight before you even Do you wake up with your jaw tight before you even open your eyes? Maybe you spend your first few minutes scrolling through your phone to check on people who didn’t ask for your help? You might spend your day rehearsing conversations that haven’t happened or making backup plans for your backup plans. This isn’t about wanting power over others. It’s a survival response. When we live from a place of control, we believe that if we can just keep everyone stable, we’ll finally feel safe. We hold our breath and tighten our grip on every detail of our lives. This keeps our nervous system on high alert. It works for a while, but eventually, the strain becomes too much to carry.Continue reading on my latest blog post, link in bios.#stressrelief #anxietyrelief #spirituality #socialmediadetox #surrendertotheflow
Walking sends a signal to your brain that you are Walking sends a signal to your brain that you are safe. The steady, rhythmic motion of your feet activates the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the branch of your nervous system responsible for rest and repair.Several physical inputs create this safety signal: the predictable left-to-right movement of your legs, the consistent rhythm of your footfalls, the changing visual field as you move through space. For people managing careers, aging parents, and changing relationships, this signal is vital. Many struggles look like indecision or brain fog. Often, it’s just a nervous system that hasn’t had an off switch in years. Walking provides that switch. It moves you out of threat mode and creates the mental space needed for clarity.Want to know more?
